Objectives
General
- Publish and regularly review our environmental policy.
- Set environmental targets/benchmarks against which environmental performance will be monitored.
- Review environmental management procedures on a regular basis.
- Avoid the unnecessary use of environmentally damaging substances and processes.
Legal compliance
- Comply with or exceed the requirements of all relevant legislation.
Energy, Water & Waste Management
- Design and specify event services to use equipment that causes least harm to the environment.
- Maintain equipment in an efficient state, replace with more efficient equipment when assessment suggests it would benefit the environment.
- Identify and implement cost effective energy & water conservation measures.
- Conduct regular environmental audits (waste and energy/water).
- Reduce the amount of waste generated & disposed of by implementing a waste minimization/recycling program.
Environmental Procurement
- Promote a buying policy which will give preference as far as is practical to those products and services which cause least harm to the environment.
Transport
- Encourage the use of transport systems which minimize environmental impact.
Noise
- Actively seek to maintain all noise within national guidelines & to reduce levels as far as is practical to a minimum.
Education and Awareness
- Increase awareness of environmental responsibilities amongst staff, encourage good housekeeping measures and provide training where necessary.
- Seek feedback from clients and suppliers.
- Work together with clients and suppliers to promote environmental performance.
Targets
- Reduce packaging and waste materials by 20% by 2010.
- Replace 50% of recyclable materials with reusable materials by 2012.
