Rob Taylor
Having started his technical career with the local youth theatre, Rob trained in Technical Theatre at Mountview Theatre School in London. There followed a series of theatre based jobs around the country (including touring) before being made redundant from the post of Event Technician at Cardiff International Arena. Since turning freelance Rob has concentrated on the Lighting and Power side of the events industry.
Lighting wise working in Theatre, Exhibitions, Conferencing, Rock & Roll touring and some TV, Rob has lit everything from musicals, plays, conferences, exhibition stands, fashion shows, the Manchester Commonwealth Games, various bands (of various musical genres), gala dinners and car launches... the list goes on!
On the Power Distribution side of the events industry Rob has worked on a number of large government projects (including two G8 meetings, a Commonwealth meeting, numerous EU meetings and G20 at ExCel); also a number of Microsoft Tech-Ed events (plus Convergence and various smaller jobs), and countless conferences, dinners, AGMs, exhibition stands and fashion shows, as well as both The Open Golf Tournament (for the last six years) and the last two European Ryder Cup competitions.
